Child and Youth Advocate Act
The requirement to develop a child advocate law is set out in the Child and Family Services Act which was passed in April 2008. The Government of Yukon has stated that it will table a Child and Youth Advocate Act in the Spring 2009 session of the Legislature. Implementation of the new Child and Youth Advocate Act will be coordinated with implementation of the Child and Family Services Act.
Disussion Paper
In November, 2008, the Government of Yukon released a Discussion Paper setting out background material and proposed elements of a made-in-Yukon model for a Child and Youth Advocate Act.
